Find a production partner for your machined parts

Milling or turning?

State the part geometry, material, dimensions and the process you require. Say whether the job is a prototype, a small series or recurring production.

Make quotations comparable

Tolerances, surface treatment, material certificates and inspection reports affect both price and the choice of manufacturer. Mark which requirements are mandatory in the first brief.

Portugal has an established metalworking and machining base, particularly in the north and centre of the country, supplying automotive, industrial equipment and mould-making customers. Capabilities and certifications vary by company; each candidate is assessed against your drawing, tolerances and volumes rather than assumed.

What we need to know

Do you have drawings or confidential material? Describe the need first. We agree how the documentation may be shared before contacting any potential supplier.

How it works, step by step

  1. Tell us what you need

Describe the product, approximate volumes and the delivery you have in mind. We confirm your key requirements and agree how the information may be shared.

  2. We search and confirm interest

I contact relevant Portuguese manufacturers and check interest, capacity and the conditions for your project. If no suitable match is found, you will hear it from me.

  3. You evaluate the options

When there is a possible match, I introduce you. The manufacturer confirms price, technical requirements and delivery terms. You evaluate the quotation and any samples.

  4. You agree the supply — I follow up

You and the manufacturer sign the agreement. The manufacturer invoices and delivers. I follow up the commercial dialogue, including ahead of repeat orders, within the scope contracted.

Terms agreed before work starts.

Scope, responsibilities and commercial terms are agreed before work starts. Depending on the assignment, Fractio may be paid through a project fee, an ongoing support fee or an agreed supplier commission. Any supplier-paid remuneration is disclosed before the relevant introduction. Submitting an enquiry does not create an order or a payment obligation.

You request quotations and order directly from the manufacturer. The manufacturer sets the price and is responsible for the agreed production, invoicing and delivery. Fractio coordinates the commercial work; roles and remuneration are agreed for each assignment.

Your enquiry is not an order. You decide whether to proceed after reviewing the proposal.

Frequently asked questions before a quotation

What is needed for a comparable quotation?

Send the same drawing revision, material, tolerances, surface treatment and quantities to each manufacturer. Ask suppliers to separate one-off costs, unit price and freight.

Can I start with a sample part?

Describe the number of sample parts you want and how they will be approved. The manufacturer must confirm cost, feasibility and timing before any order is placed.

Which certifications should I ask for?

Ask what quality system the company operates (for example ISO 9001) and which material and inspection documentation it can provide. Requirements are confirmed by the manufacturer and verified by your team; Fractio does not certify suppliers.
