How to read this list
All entries come from the companies’ own websites or public directories, checked on 12 October 2026. Processes, machines and certifications are as stated by each company, not verified by Fractio; request current certificates (number, body, scope) before relying on them. Listing does not imply any commercial relationship with Fractio, confirmation of interest in new customers, or suitability for your part. Companies that wish to correct or remove an entry can write to miguel@fractio.se.
Certifications here matter more than elsewhere: a stated ISO 13485 is a claim to verify with the certificate number and scope, and the device class decides whether a notified body is involved. The MDR guide for buyers explains what to ask for; this list tells you who to ask.

What Portugal makes — and does not
- Strong: woven and non-woven consumables (gauze, swabs, drapes, gowns, procedure packs — Bastos Viegas, ADA, Fapomed), gloves and masks (ARKA, ALLPROCARE), infusion and fluid-path plastic components (Muroplás, BHL-Medical), cleanroom injection moulding and lab consumables (Vangest, Celoplás, Sevlaires, TCC), machined implant components (SISMA, Argo Baum), coatings (Ceramed), EMS for devices (Keenfinity).
- Thin or absent in public sources: syringes and needles, sterilisation pouches, orthodontic brackets and aligners, dedicated veterinary consumables beyond BHL-Medical’s line, dental impression materials. A Nordic buyer of those should expect to combine a Portuguese component maker with a legal manufacturer elsewhere, or to brief a moulder on a private-label project with the regulatory work costed in.
- Private label is offered explicitly by ARKA (gloves), BHL-Medical (own-brand-labelling division), Fapomed and the contract moulders; the brand model decides who is the legal manufacturer under MDR Article 16.
- Coloplast is building a catheter plant in Felgueiras (opening 2026) — captive production, but a sign of where the cluster is going.
